Artist's Description
This piece is hopefully the first in a series on the music scene in Austin, Texas, a mystical place long heralded as "the live music capital of the world'.
That might be quite a boast, but the late classical-music conductor, Akira Endo -- formerly of The American Ballet Theatre --once told me that, in terms of performances that you could actually afford and get in to see, there was a lot more to live music in Austin than he could ever take advantage of in New York. Now if you're not "buying it", I suggest you just get down to Austin and check things out for yourself :-)
This digitally painted work in gicl�e on canvas is inspired by the *outstanding* live-concert photography of Ms. Suzanne Cordeiro.
In this case, the subject is modeled after guitarist and lead singer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
Look closely in the background and under the stage. You might just find some "un-ticketed fans" lurking there.
